As a responsible landlord we are committed to the good stewardship of our estate in Greenwich and recognise the need to regenerate and improve the properties. In particular we appreciate the need to invest in the Island Site, including the market. We want to understand the views of everyone who lives or works in the area as part of a process of consultation over plans for the future of the Island Site.

Key Stakeholder Consultative Group

In January 2007 we set up a Key Stakeholder Consultative Group under the chairmanship of Nick Raynsford MP, with representatives of Greenwich Hospital, the London Borough of Greenwich, the Greenwich Foundation, the National Maritime Museum, the Town Centre Traders, the Market managers, the residents, the Chamber of Commerce, Greenwich Peninsula Partnership and the Greenwich Society. The purpose of the Group is to discuss the regeneration of the Island Site and provide views from a wide spectrum of people and organisations with an interest in the Hospital’s properties in Greenwich. The Group will be looking at and commenting upon various options for the Island Site.

Public Exhibition

peWe presented these options at a public exhibition in October 2007 so that we could understand your views on the regeneration of the market and surrounding properties. At the exhibition all attendees had the opportunity to fill out feedback forms and provide comments on the proposals, and a ballot box was provided by Electoral Reform Services. Electoral Reform Services then produced a report of all responses. Electoral Reform Services help organisations of all sorts conduct their elections and ballots in a manner that is fair, transparent and independent.

A report of the feedback received is available on this site on the Public Exhibition page. Please click on the link below to be taken straight there:
