In Greenwich, Trafalgar Quarters were converted to sheltered accommodation in 2001, providing 21 flats for ex-seafarers or their widows. In addition the Hospital has extended its development of high quality sheltered housing, with 36 flats at Greenwich Court in Southsea, opened in 1989, and a second scheme, Greenwich Place at Saltash, Cornwall, opened in 1994 to mark the Hospital's 300th Anniversary.
The three schemes provide 89 flats for elderly ex-seafarers or their widows. They are built to modern standards and the tenants pay rent based on housing association rates. The Church of England Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Clubs (CESSAC) manage this accommodation for us.
