The charitable objects of Greenwich Hospital remain based on the Charter:

• The relief and support of seamen of the Royal Navy (including the Royal Marines)
• The maintenance and support of their widows.
• The maintenance and education of their children.
• The further relief and encouragement of these seamen.

Although “seawomen” are not acknowledged by the Charter, these charitable objects are applied equally to men and women.
