In order to bring forward a planning application for the Island Site it was important to establish the planning issues at an early stage. Drivers Jonas, Greenwich Hospital's planning consultants have worked with Hopkins Architects to help devise a scheme which complies with national and local planning policies.

These plans were presented to the Key Stakeholder Consultative Group and were then the subject of full public consultation. Drivers Jonas  then co-ordinated the production and submission of applications for planning, listed building and conservation area consent. After the applications were submitted, Drivers Jonas continued to liaise with Greenwich Council following the refusal of consent by Greenwich Council Planning Board.

In February 2010 Drivers Jonas co-ordinated the lodging of the market regeneration appeal documents with the Planning Inspectorate.
